“ This was a really homey place, and had also now become my new go-to place for Mexican food. There's plenty of parking outside. The staff were very friendly, and I appreciated that the interior was clean and wasn't too loud or distracting. They also had a face painting station outside because of Cindo de Mayo! As for the food, we had shrimp ceviche, birria quesadilla, fish and carne asada tacos, and everything was delicious. The tacos and quesadilla were stuffed with meat, and we appreciated that nothing was salty. Things were very well seasoned without being salty. Overall, would highly recommend! ”
“ I’ve been looking for a great taco spot in this area and have finally found it at Helena’s! The service is absolutely superb. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly, but what really pushed it over the top was people who weren’t assigned to our table still went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. My favorite tacos are the shrimp and fish. The food is as great as the service. Love this place and will definitely be back. ”
“ Excellent!! So happy this is part of the neighborhood. Our server was SO nice and got us everything and anything that we needed. Apps were delish, happy hour is until 6pm. No complaints and will be back many more times ”
“ I really enjoyed the vibes inside this place. The staff were attentive, friendly, & professional. I ordered takeout but decided to sit at the bar while my food was being prepared. I ordered a pineapple mojito which was great. I also, had their chips & salsa which was a nice little snack to hold me over. But once I got home to get into the real reason I came there fajitas (shrimp & steak) was delicious. I asked for my steak to be cook medium well & it was spot on! I love plantains & they were sweet just like I like them. The rice & beans was a hit too! I will be back! ”
“ This restaurant is my new favorite spot. The people are so kind and welcoming. The food is incredibly delicious. The plantains and black beans are my favorite followed closely by their house salsa and house hot sauces. The chips are freshly fried and super crispy. I’ve had the tacos, enchiladas, and birria so far and can’t wait to be back to try the rest of the menu. You won’t regret visiting this place!! ”
“ Excellent food, had the birria tacos which was tasty. Our waitress was efficient but not terribly personable which was fine. Might of caught her on an off day or something. Prices were pretty reasonable and comparable to other restaurants. Would definitely come here again. ”
“ It's a new restaurant on the block and it became famous and loved by many people very fast. Every time we come here it's busy. The staff is always extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The food is delicious . The shrimp ceviche I had today was one of the best I've ever had. Their salsa and sauces are tasty, thick and full of flavor. Highly recommend to all Mexican cuisine lovers. ”
“ I am floored by how friendly the service was here. Honestly, I think it’s fair to temper expectations when we go out to eat anymore. The service industry is hard work, and usually that shows up in how team members engage. Not here. This team was genuinely WARM and KIND and dedicated to creating a welcome environment. William in particular was engaging, helpful, and his recommendation to try the mole was perfect. I seriously haven’t felt so genuinely at home in a restaurant since I was back in the Midwest. This is clearly a small run business that takes a lot of pride in what they are doing here. The place seems newly remodeled with nice flooring and plenty of seating. We came in tonight, on a Friday just after their happy hour ended at 6. We had zero wait for a table, but must have taken the last one! It was very busy, and the environment is very lively without being too overwhelming. Expect happy hour vibes with some families and couples of all ages. I can’t thank this team enough for the lovely, warm experience. And you gotta try the salsa verde - perfect amount of cilantro. ”
